Lovibond DPD4 tablets are used to measure total bromine (i.e. free + combined) and active oxygen levels in your pool or spa water. A DPD4 tablet will give exactly the same color as a DPD1 tablet (for the free part) and a DPD3 tablet (for the combined part) added to the same water sample.

DPD4 is mainly used for bromine testing, because - unlike chlorine - both free and combined bromine have a disinfectant effect.

DPD4 tablets are compatible with standard color comparators for DPD tablets, including the bromine analysis kit available from Tubs.
